PARISH COUNCIL MINUTES

MEETING OF 1/ 17/07

Roll call: Katie Burke, Mary Ann Theby, Mike Behnke, Kathy Rinehart, Murray Mayo, Jane Hogan, Fr. Mark, Lisa Frey, Sandy Patrick, Terry Battaglia, Dave Mazanec, Bob Schultek, Jacki Calavitta, Louise Cox, Suzanne Horvath and David Pastor

Opening Prayer: Kathy Rinehart and dinner followed.

Minutes Approved: Minutes of the last meeting held November 15th, were approved and seconded.

Business Items:

Kathy had a formal welcome for Suzanne Horvath.

We then had a brief discussion regarding the Welcoming Brunch that is to be held on February 18th at 1pm. The session will be a storytelling that will be facilitated by Rick Krivanka. A meeting with Rick will be held on Sunday, January 28th following the 11am mass. We discussed who should be invited from Resurrection. A decision was made to have people RSVP by signing up to attend.

Council decided that we would invite S. Kate Kuenstler PHJC, JCD to our meeting in May to discuss her topic of Canon Law and the Rights of the Lay Christian Church.

Discussion Item:

As we watch the film In Good Conscience, Father Mark asked each of what are the other groups in the church that might not feel welcome? What are the risks and obstacles if we were to reach out? What are the positive messages in the story for us?

A suggestion was made to possibly show this movie prior to a potential discussion with Donna Kelly Rego. No decision was made and Father Mark to contact Mrs. Rego on a possible date to meet with the parishioners of Resurrection.
