Discussion Items: Parish Council Retreat – will be held Saturday, September 9 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. It will be held at the Parish center, and the agenda will include setting goals for Parish Council for the coming year. The Parish Team will identify issues and topics for future meetings. Fr. Mark brought information on leadership training seminars in Utica, NY; we will explore further to see if this would be beneficial. VPL2 – Katie gave an update on the Clustering Committee. A meeting was held on June 20 where the group divided into 3 work teams to independently develop clustering proposals based on differing criteria: geography, shared mission, and open. This resulted in the development of 4 proposals in addition to the original. Each member will be asked to evaluate all proposals and rank in order of preference. This will be accomplished via email prior to the next meeting which is scheduled for July 26. In addition, Fr. Mark attended a picnic with the Chagrin Valley parishes on June 12 which included some cross-parish dialog on this initiative. In the meantime, the dissemination of educational materials at the weekend liturgies is proceeding successfully. Additional handouts are planned for the weekends of June 24 and 25 and July 1 and 2. VPL members and Parish Council members have been available in the social room after Mass to answer questions and solicit input from the greater parish community. Posters are being prepared for display in the gathering area to provoke thought and questions regarding the process.
