CHURCH OF THE RESURRECTION
Parish Pastoral Council Meeting Minutes
May 11, 2005 7:00p.m.

1) Roll Call
Sister Jeanette Brown, Katie Burke, Jackie Calavetta, Loiuse Cox, Lisa Frey,
Father Mark Hobson, Meg Matuska, Judy Melillo, Kevin Noonan, Janet Pastor,
Jackie Robertson, Joe Schlanser, Bob Schultek, Dave Pastor

Excused: Terry Battaglia, Linda Pastor

Guests: John Sheeter, Sandy Patrick, Gabe Rosica, Mike Peterson, Bill

2) Faith Sharing
Jackie Robertson read a letter from Bishop Pilla regarding vocations and
opened the meeting with a prayer for vocations.

3) Approval of Minutes
There was no Parish Council meeting in April. The minutes for the March
meeting were not forwarded till after the May meeting.

4) Announcements
a) April DPC Meeting
Council members who attended the April DPC meeting downtown shared their
reactions and learnings.

b) Hospitality Committee
A follow up meeting to the evening facilitated by Sister Margaret Mach S.C.
will be held on Tuesday, May 24th. The hospitality committee will be
co-chaired by Catherine Mazanec and Mary Anne Theby.

c) Finance Committee and Capital Campaign Committee
These two committees are working on ways to increase our offertory
collections. Fifty percent of those who contribute are contributing $4.00
per week. Letters will be sent to people requesting an increase in their
weekly offering. Some of the letters will contain a suggested amount of
increase.

New members who are been here a year will be asked if they would like to
contribute to the capital campaign.

d) New Employee
Charlie Tremont has been hired on a consultant base to serve as a part-time
business manager for the next 4-6 months.

e) Parish Council Discernment
Discernment is scheduled for next Thursday, May 19. It will begin at
7:00p.m. with mass.

5) Diocesan Survey Regarding Vocations
Council discussed their initial reactions to the diocesan program entitled,
A Future Full of Hope, Deepening Our Awareness and Encouragement of
Vocations.

Council committed to conducting the interviews at the June 15th council
meeting. Father Mark to look at adapting the questions prior to the June
meeting so they would be broader in scope.

6) Space Issues
A calendar meeting is scheduled for Monday, 16. At that point all liturgies
would be scheduled. At that point, the calendar will be opened up to other
organizations/committees within the parish. At this time we are considering
requests for use of the space by organizations/committees within the parish.

A plan still needs to be developed which outlines the use of the space. In
the mean time, allowing use of the space by organizations/committees within
the parish will help us to develop this plan.
