The good news is that recycling them is now a lot easier. Home Depot stores are accepting used compact fluorescents in all of its stores in the U.S. Visit the Earth Day Coalition website to learn more: www.earthdaycoalition.org/programs_mercury.php.

The program provides overnight hospitality, meals and support to homeless families with children through a network of religious congregations. It is part of a national organization of 120 networks.
We host 3 to 5 families (up to 14 people) for one week, four times a year. Guest families are housed in the Resource Center on St. Rita’s campus. Our next host week is November 16-22. We are looking for volunteers from Resurrection parish to join us: families with children, singles, individual spouses, all are welcome. The success of the network depends on the efforts and enthusiasm of volunteers. We need help with set up, clean up, cooking, serving, activities, and overnight hosting.
