The labyrinth has
again become a powerful tool for prayer and transformation. A metaphor
for the spiritual journey, it quiets the mind, opening the heart and
soul to God. Unlike a maze, there are no decisions; there is
only one path which takes you both into the center and back out. Walking
this narrow path can take a person through the three stages of prayer:
purgation (the quieting), illumination (finding insight) and union
(integrating the insight). Rediscover what it means to be a pilgrim
and walk the labyrinth. A canvas labyrinth modeled after the one found
in the floor of Chartres Cathedral is brought to Resurrection once
during Advent and once during Lent.
