Children’s Liturgy of the Word

Children’s Liturgy of the Word is offered during the Sunday Masses at 9am and 11am for children typically between the ages of 4 and 8. After the opening prayers, children are invited to come forward and are dismissed from the main assembly to gather in a separate space. There, they listen to the Scripture readings of the day—especially the Gospel—proclaimed in a child-friendly format.

Through storytelling, discussion, and interactive activities, children are guided to understand the message of the readings and how they apply to their lives. The goal is to help them grow in their faith and become more engaged in the liturgy. After the homily or universal prayers, the children return to the church to continue celebrating the Mass with their families.

This ministry helps children deepen their relationship with God while nurturing their sense of belonging in the parish community. If you are interested in being a Children's Liturgical Minister, please contact Julie Tragon at jtragon@churchofresurrection.org or 440-248-0980 ext. 25.

Children’s Mass Bags

Our Children’s Mass Bags are designed to help young children stay engaged during Mass in a quiet and faith-filled way. Each bag contains age-appropriate religious books, coloring pages, crayons, and small activities that relate to the themes of the Mass or liturgical season.

These bags are available at the entrance of the church on a white cart and are intended for use during Mass by children ages 3–6 and ages 7-10. Families are encouraged to return the bags and all materials to the designated area after Mass so they can be refreshed and ready for the next child.

Mass Bags are a simple but meaningful way to help children participate more fully in the liturgy and feel welcome in our worship space.
