Parish Pastoral Council (PPC)
The Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) serves the Church of the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ as a leadership body rooted in our mission: We are a Eucharistic community committed to living the teachings of Jesus. We embrace our call to love, to serve, and to build a just world. Inspired by the spirit of the Second Vatican Council, we embrace our shared responsibility for the life and direction of our parish.
Our Role
In keeping with Vatican II’s Decree on the Apostolate of Lay People and the Cleveland Diocese Parish Pastoral Council Policy, the PPC works with the Pastor—drawing on broad consultation within the parish—to help shape the long- and short-term goals that guide the pastoral work of the Church.
What the PPC Does
The PPC is a consultative body. Its purpose is to:
· Offer informed insight, reflection, and analysis on matters affecting the Church, the parish, and the wider community.
· Provide thoughtful recommendations to the Pastor, Pastoral Staff, and, when appropriate, the parish at large.
How the Council Works
Council members contribute by:
· Gathering information and listening to parish needs
· Engaging in prayerful reflection and meaningful discussion
· Sharing informed opinions and considering diverse viewpoints
· Discerning options and offering well-formed recommendations
